Oh how I looked forward to the release of the Bridget Jones’s Diary film after having read the book in one sitting and poured over the columns on the internet. Naturally when I was on vacation in London, I just had to track down the outside door to Bridget’s flat and the street where they filmed the infamous “fight” scene. Now you can too… v. good.
8 Bedale Street – The Globe Tavern and the door to Bridget’s singleton apartment is just down the little alley. This is where production designers covered the existing shops with fake fronts (e.g. the Greek restaurant) for the fight scene and the Bridget/Mark reunited scene.
Borough Market – Scene of Bridget’s confident food shopping to the tune of Artful Dodger and Robbie Craig’s “Woman Trouble”.
Royal Exchange Buildings – The chilly but romantic underpants kiss scene between Mark and Bridget took place near the Montblanc shop.
Snowshill – This fairytale Cotswold village provided the Christmas time scenes of Bridget visiting her parents.
